The last couple of months have been very busy for the Galston Swim Club. We have had many Friday nights of in house club racing and several swimming meets taking place across Sydney.
Whilst it is exciting to write about the upcoming events and the wonderful achievements of the kids, especially with all the obstacles in 2020, this month we want to focus on what it means to be part of Galston Swim Club.
We are a small swim club relative to others but with a big heart and community spirit that shines through whenever you see the kids together. At Friday night racing you will hear the enthusiastic support of the swimmers, yelling and screaming as they cheer on their team mates in the water. Swimmers are always trying for a personal best time or sometimes aiming for state and national qualification times. It is truly wonderful to see. The noise is honestly deafening but so well received by all and spurs on the swimmers.
When we are at Sydney Olympic Park and the junior relays are racing, you won’t see the kids on their phones or interest elsewhere. The Galston team are at the edge of the balcony screaming down to their team mates in the pool to encourage them to do their best.
To see the kids huddle round and congratulate each other after a great swim is heart warming and shows the real club spirit that is being fostered amongst the kids and lead by their very enthusiastic coach Adrian Rossi.
If you’re interested in joining our friendly, community run competitive swim club which delivers excellent results please contact us via email at [email protected] and book a try out session with our fantastic head coach.
