Cherrybrook Probus Ponderings – Adventures In Our Own City

The past month offered many opportunities for fun and friendship at the Combined Probus Club of Cherrybrook. We enjoyed a delicious Malaysian dinner at Istana in Thornleigh and several trips to the city, the first being a visit to the Sydney Museum to discover the early days of the colony and it was surprising how many of us learnt something.

Our second day took us on a ferry trip and extensive walk to explore the delights of Balmain. This area has experienced enormous change from its industrial and maritime beginnings to a gentrified area of Sydney. Naturally both outings were followed by great lunches with much chat and later in the month another city visit to MJ The Musical.

Future events include a guided tour of the Royal Botanic Gardens, several more theatre performances, Happy Hour with delicious food, beverages and good conversation, an energetic morning of Ten Pin Bowling and of course the regular activities of craft, book club, cards, games, golf, lawn bowls and Money Matters groups.

If you are active retirees or even semi-retired and have promised yourselves to get out, meet new people and have new experiences the Combined Probus Club of Cherrybrook could be for you.

Our meetings are held at the Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre on the first Thursday of each month. For information please contact Lynn on 0414848413. We look forward to warmly welcoming you to our Probus Club to share the good times.
