As we come out of the pandemic, I am aware NSW households and local businesses are facing new challenges. As the NSW Treasurer, I have been faced with the challenge of delivering the recent budget that will ensure our State bounces back and will help build a fair, more sustainable and more prosperous future, including for the Electorate of Hornsby.
I am extremely pleased to have been able to secure funding for the long awaited and much needed widening of New Line Road between Purchase Road and Hastings Road.
I was also happy to see Galston High School selected as one of 60 NSW schools to participate in a trial to add solar panels to their school buildings to generate, store and share energy via the electricity grid.
This trial will help the NSW Government meet its commitment of net zero emissions by 2050 and we know that solar is one of the best ways to slash the State’s energy bill and emissions.
The Pandemic has given many of us a renewed appreciation for our outdoor environment and there is currently a particular focus on delivering passive recreation improvements for the Hornsby community.
Finally, I have recently circulated my most recent community survey for which I encourage all Hornsby residents to complete and return it to my office. I am very keen to understand what is important to you, your family and your community at this time, so I can continue to ensure that the Hornsby electorate is the best place to live, work and raise a family.
