Hello Residents,

I hope you are enjoying the colder weather of the winter months. While it’s a good time for gardening and planting Hornsby Shire Council is running a Native Plant Giveaway at the Warada Ngurang Community Nursery in Pennant Hills.

Each household can book a slot and take home up to four free native plants per household — ranging from grasses and shrubs to tube-stock trees—twice yearly efforts aim to enhance local biodiversity and support wildlife habitats. The Destination Management Plan sets a strategic vision to grow the Shire’s visitor economy over the next five years, with initiatives to improve visitor experiences, increase stay duration boost local spending, and raise the area’s profile. Focusing on four key pillars – river, rural, parks and bushland, and towns and villages – it outlines a collaborative framework for Council, businesses, and agencies to deliver tangible results.

Hornsby Council’s Draft Glenorie Village Investigation Report and Place Plan is now on exhibition, outlining key planning recommendations based on the 2022 Rural Lands Study.
