Rotary Club of West Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook

Despite a third of voters casting their vote prior to Election Day our Club held a very successful BBQ and cake stall at West Pennant Hills Public School on 3rd May. Proceeds from the day will go to our Rotary charities.

On 17th May we were invited by Bunnings Castle Hill to assist them with a FightMND Fundraiser BBQ. We were joined by another charity, Supertee. A wonderful result was achieved for a great cause.

The Club held its Pride of Workmanship Awards on 19th May at Hotel Pennant Hills. The Pride of Workmanship Award is designed to acknowledge an employee or volunteer who displays outstanding qualities in terms of dedication and commitment to their work.

This year our awardees were Amelia Hansen, who works full time in a managerial role within the NDIS sector, Nicole King who works with Riding for the Disabled, an organisation that provides people with a disability the opportunity to enjoy all the activities connected with horse riding. Susan Young, a dedicated volunteer and Veronica Kentwell, Food Services Leader at Bella Vista Gardens, an aged care facility at Norwest.

David Firth, the District Pride of Workmanship Chairman, presented the awards.

A regular program of lawn mowing, line trimming and pruning is carried out by members at several transitional houses at Kenthurst.
