During the Summer holidays some of the 1st Dural intrepid Scouts and Venturers undertook a series of hikes along the coast. In two separate Adventurous Journeys, they covered the areas of Shoal Bay, Fingal Bay, and the area between Murray’s Beach and Stockton Beach.
Although they were met with high temperatures over both journeys, they faced the challenge in true Scouting style and pushed through the heat as a group, stayed hydrated and supported each other when they were struggling.

“The youngest person on the hike was Jack but I was impressed as he is really strong, able to carry the pack, and was very patient with us three girls.”
“I loved this trip; it gave me a chance to connect with nature after such a difficult school year.”
“Without this camp I wouldn’t have so many of the amazing memories that I now have – saving a baby ringtail possum, and both crying and laughing when I fell first in the sand and when we got hit by a big wave which soaked our socks not even half an hour into our journey.”
