On Wednesday the 31st of July, Dural Public School invited members of the school community to join them for School Open Day to celebrate Education Week.
This was an opportunity to acknowledge and thank all those who contribute to our children and young people’s educational journey, including school staff, parents, carers, community members and the P&C Association.
To begin the day, there were student performances from a wide range of extracurricular activities, including the Senior Concert Band, String and Recorder Group and the K-6 Choir groups. Dural Public School is lucky to have so many dedicated staff members who eagerly provide a wide range of extracurricular activities for students to engage in. After an adorable Kindergarten dance piece, parents and carers were invited into classrooms where they experienced a variety of activities that our students engage with in an inclusive, diverse learning environment.
In celebrating this year’s Education Week theme, ‘Proud to belong’, it was wonderful to witness the students showing a sense of pride and achievement for their school on Open Day. Their enthusiasm for learning was evident as they shared their work with their loved ones and gave tours of their classrooms, the art room, the library and the music room to show what they had been working hard on all year. After spending time celebrating the students’ achievements, parents and carers were then invited for morning tea with their children on the playground. Luckily, the weather held off and it was a lovely morning.
Dural Public School staff and students appreciate everyone who visited the school on Open Day. They were very proud to share their hard work and dedication with the school community and look forward to future community events.
