Doug and Glen win Pairs Title at Dural Bowls!
After many interruptions due to Covid and weather our 2021 Men’s Major Pairs Competition was finally able to be played on January29th with the winners being Doug Farlow and new player Glen Davey defeating previous winners Tom Trovato and Greg Smith 22-14. The playing conditions were far from perfect, windy and with a fast green. The game started off quite evenly for the first few ends.
Doug and Glen were able to master the conditions better than Tom and Greg, and once they took the lead they never looked back, even though Tom and Greg came back with a late charge and got within 6 shots . Doug and Glen will now represent Dural Country Club Bowling Club in the Champion of Champions Competition in March.
The Mitchell District Pennant is flying high at Dural Country Club Bowling Club
On January 27 th the Dural Women’s Pennant side defeated North Ryde 42-39 in a thrilling Regional Playoff and some very proud and excited ladies were presented with the Mitchell District Pennant along with their coveted Regional Pennant Badges on the day. For some team members it was their first ever District Pennant win and everyone’s first badges for a Regional Playoff win .What a day!! The next contest will be the State Playoffs.
