Dural Bowling Club News

The first competition of the year, the Open Gender Drawn Triples, is underway at the Dural Bowling Club with the finals scheduled for February 7.

Eoin Gubbins, the Dural Club Manager, welcomed the bowlers at the recent Christmas lunch. He said he took over this position just over a year ago and is thoroughly enjoying his interactions with the sub clubs.

The winners and runners-up of the various competitions held throughout the year were presented with their prizes by the president of Dural Bowling Club after the lunch.

The day started at 9.30am with a game of scroungers where players are divided up into groups of four to a rink. Each rink players plays an individual game against the others. Each player has three bowls and the closest bowls scores three points, second two points and third one point.

The players had a fun and entertaining morning on the greens and Graeme Giles emerged the winner of the competition. After the completion of the event, the bowlers that had elected to skip the morning games, joined the rest for lunch.

The club farewelled Steve Barrett after the lunch as he had made the decision to return to his homeland of New Zealand
