Dural Bocce Club Celebrates Melissa Danelutti’s Success

October proved to be a steady month for the Dural Bocce Club, with regular games rolling on across Tuesday mornings and Friday evenings.

While the courts at home remained relaxed, club members were closely watching the international bocce circuit, where Australia’s Under 18 and Under 23 representatives were competing at two major events — the Denis Rivera International Challenge in Monaco and the World Junior Championships in Mersin, Türkiye.

For many at Dural, the connection felt personal. Several of the young athletes had visited the club in September for a coaching clinic, offering local players a rare chance to meet emerging talent before they stepped onto the world stage. Among them was Melissa Danelutti, whose performance in Monaco became a standout moment for Australian bocce. Danelutti secured a silver medal in the Precision Throw, an achievement that reflects both exceptional skill and unwavering commitment to her training.

Her podium finish was celebrated warmly back in Dural, where members took pride in having supported her early preparation. While her success was undoubtedly her own, the club couldn’t help but hope a touch of Dural encouragement travelled with her to Europe.
