Local artist Dave Snook has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Hornsby Art Prize for his striking oil painting on board, Labour Plein Air. The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre in Hornsby.
Snook’s winning artwork will be on display alongside other prize-winning entries until November 10th. The exhibition is open to the public Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am-4 pm.
A panel of esteemed judges, including Sebastian Goldspink, Director of Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, and renowned printmaker Rew Hanks, selected Snook’s piece from a pool of talented artists.
The Hornsby Art Prize is a highly regarded annual event that celebrates and promotes visual arts in the local community.
