HILLS COUNCIL NEWS UPDATE, Happening Up North Clr Mitchell Blue, NSW Government

Council Latest News: Cattai Ridge Road from Boundary Road to Old Northern Road has recently seen over $600,000 spent on asphalt work completed in March. Cattai Ridge Road will also see $800,000 spent on rural length treatment, including guardrails.

The Cattai Ridge Road and Halcrows Road intersection upgrade is progressing through the design phase. Council is waiting certification of the electrical relocation plans prior to the tender process. Halcrows Road from Wisemans Ferry Rd to Cattai Ridge Road has seen $800,000 spent on asphalt patching which was completed last week.

I attended Council’s Clean Up Australia Day Event at Caddies Creek Park Reserve at Rouse Hill. It was great to be joined by community members, Kellyville RFS, The Hills Youth Army and Dr Michelle Ryan of Western Sydney University who spoke of the platypus living in The Hills.

It is important that we keep our creeks and tributaries clean not only for the platypus, but for the overall health of the Hawkesbury River.

I have recently been working with residents and volunteers of the Community Environment Centre at Annangrove and members of Cattai Hills Environment Network on opportunities to increase water quality and investigate testing of creeks in The Shire.
