Clean Up Australia – Lions Club Joins The Action

By Geoff Irvine

The Lions Club of West Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook joined a hundreds of groups around Australia in this year’s Clean Up Australia campaign.

The Club was allocated a site at Keighran Place Cherrybrook to do its part in making our environment cleaner and safer. This site was in the Pyres Creek area and 12 members joined the local community to restore this space so that the community can enjoy this beautiful amenity again. Club members removed rubbish that had collected in the creek due to the unusual rainy Summer we experienced this year.

Club member Chaminka De Silva, said “the club felt proud to be able to join the national Clean-up campaign to improve the area for the community.” It also felt good that Lions were able be involved this year since the COVID restrictions were relaxed.
