Christmas Tree nitiative by The Hills-Kellyville Rotary

The Rotary Club of The Hills–Kellyville is once again bringing a touch of tradition — and generosity — to the community this Christmas, offering families the chance to take home a fresh, real Christmas tree while supporting vital local and international projects.

Across two December weekends — 6–7 December and 13–14 December — locals can choose from premium Christmas trees sourced from the Southern Highlands, freshly delivered to ensure they last through the festive season. The trees will be available at two easily accessible sites: the Bull & Bush Hotel car park in Baulkham Hills, and the Ettamogah Hotel car park in Kellyville Ridge. Volunteers will be on hand to help load trees into cars, and delivery can be arranged for those unable to transport one themselves.

All proceeds support Rotary’s ongoing community initiatives. Each sale contributes directly to programs including youth literacy development, local community gardening projects, and the long-running Breakfast Club at Bourke Public School — a program credited with boosting attendance among students. The club also provides support to communities recovering from natural disasters, and recently helped fund state-of-the-art eye clinic equipment at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Beyond Australia, members continue to assist major humanitarian efforts in Sri Lanka and India.

For those looking for another way to give back, the club’s annual Giving Tree has returned to Grove Square in Baulkham Hills. For more than 20 years the initiative has delivered Christmas gifts to those doing it tough, and this season up to 200 presents will be distributed to children, young adults and women staying in local refuges.

The Hills–Kellyville Rotary team also runs popular community events throughout the year, including the Sydney Hills Garden Competition and Jazz at the Pines — all part of the club’s mission to build a more connected and supported community.
