The Festive Season was a busy time for members of the Combined Probus Club of Cherrybrook. December encompassed a presentation from REECH Cambodia, a fun-filled Christmas party at The Fiddler Hotel and end of year gatherings for many of the sport and activity groups.
The New Year kicked off with a fancy dress New Year’s Eve party (pictured), which demonstrated the creativity and desire for fun of the attendees which began at the front door when trying to recognise who was before you and quite importantly whether they were an expected guest!
After one day of rest, on January 2nd members gathered at the Dural Club for the first meeting of 2025. Robert from the Homicide and Victim’s Support Group gave an emotional and thought-provoking address outlining their many avenues of work. He also explained the purpose of Grace’s Place, a property offering residential stays and their Op Shop ‘New Leaf’ at Parramatta. The meeting was followed by lunch and a great deal of chat.
Future events include a champagne breakfast at Berowra Waters, Ten Pin Bowling, Zig Zag Railway Nostalgia Trip, Hawkesbury Race Day, Club Changeover and the resumption of regular interest and sporting groups. Our meetings are held at the Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre on the first Thursday of each month.
