The Hills Shire Council is teaming up with Revolve Recycling to bring a fantastic initiative to the community at Castle Hill Showground on Saturday, June 21st. From 9 am to 1 pm, residents are invited to participate in a Bike Drop Off & Check and Tune event, a perfect opportunity to declutter your garage responsibly and ensure your current bicycles are in tip-top shape.
This community-focused day offers two key services. Firstly, you can bring along any unwanted bicycles, scooters, e-bikes, or tricycles for free recycling. Revolve Recycling will ensure these items are handled in an environmentally friendly manner, giving you a guilt-free way to dispose of them.
Secondly, for those bikes still in use, experienced mechanics will be on hand to provide a complimentary 15-minute tune-up. This quick service will cover essential checks on your tyres, brakes, and gears, ensuring your bike is safe and ready for your next adventure. Please note that booking ahead is required for the bike check and tune service, so be sure to secure your spot!
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne is encouraging Hills residents to make the most of this important initiative.
“I am proud that Council is partnering with Revolve Recycling to reduce our environmental footprint, give back to the community, and redistribute refurbished bikes to those in need,” Mayor Byrne said.
This event is proudly supported by the NSW Environment Protection Authority through its Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy, funded by the waste levy. It’s a practical way for Hills Shire residents to not only clear out unwanted items but also actively participate in creating a more sustainable and community-minded environment.
