Around the World with Galston Concerts

On 25th August, the Galston Concerts return to Galston Uniting Church on School Rd, with interna-tional pianist Glenn Amer performing ‘Around the World’, his all-new program of popular ‘Classics & Contrasts’.

From Puccini (his Madama Butterfly) and Debussy (of Clair de Lune fame) Glenn will perform songs from sunny Naples and the cafes of Paris, then travel to the Orient as imagined in Cyril Scott’s Lotus Land. Film music is included too, with Love is a Many Splendored Thing, and more.

Glenn’s talents as virtuoso pianist (‘piano wizardry’ say the reviews) are complemented by gentle humour as a raconteur when he recalls travels and triumphs in over 70 countries, and on the high seas as headline entertainer for the world’s most prestigious cruise lines.

Around the World with Galston ConcertsThe Galston Uniting Church concert grand piano will be matched by Glenn’s further skills on the church’s Forster & Andrews pipe organ – more in Wurlitzer theatre organ than Classical style. Glenn’s welcome return to Galston ‘by public demand’ reflects audience delight in Glenn’s multi talents.

Following a pre-concert talk at 1:40pm, the performance starts at 2:00pm, followed by a ‘meet the musos’ afternoon tea at 3:15pm. Tickets can be purchased at the church in the hour prior to the concert (cash sales only, please) while advanced bookings are available on trybooking.com (search Galston 25 August).
