Arcadian Quilting News

Our praise this August is goes to the CWA Ladies.

They very kindly offered us the use of their Hall on Annangrove Road, Dural during the past difficult Covid months.

‘Thank you’ — we are grateful for the opportunity to have held our meetings in the comfort and warmth of your facility during that time. During August we will be moving back into our own area at Galston. We quilters recently enjoyed a “Christmas in July” lunch held at the RSL Club, Galston.

We enjoyed a fresh, creative menu and friendly service in very pleasant surrounds. Our lunch was well supported and we had the pleasure of seeing several current members who have not been able to attend past meetings.

July also gave opportunity to attend the Eastwood Quilt Exhibition which was held at the Roslea Community Centre, Beecroft. The three day event was impressive and many wonderful quilts were on display. The EPQ’s excellent standard of work continues and I think this can always be seen as an encouragement to the wider quilting community!!

Another very large and wonderfully coloured quilt (seen in picture right) was on our rescue list recently and is now ready to be donated into the community. A lovely way to brighten someone’s home and add that touch of warmth and welcome.

The delicate ‘snow-drops’ have made an appearance in my garden, which means — soon there will be colour, warmth and SPRING — not too far away?

We will now be meeting at — the Community Health Centre, The Glade, Galston. The 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of each month at 9.30am. For further information pls contact Carole on 9894 7749
