How marvellous to have some sunshine now that we are settling into this winter weather. I see the local sports fields are filled with happy, eager young athletes making the most of these great days.
Football games seem to be drawing crowds. Parents, siblings, loyal grandparents and even the family dog can be found having fun in the sun on the local ovals.
In quilting news, one of our quilting ladies has just finished a bright, delightful felted bag which would be perfect for a more genteel activity, perhaps to carry lunch and a book outdoors into that sunshine and still enjoy these days?
In other quilting news, the great outdoors was the theme behind a sunny and bright grandchild’s bed quilt. Busy bees and butterflies could be the beginnings of sweet dreams for a lucky little lady!
Whatever the weather, we quilting ladies are continuing with our latest project, the ’Raffle Quilt’.
Following a chosen colour theme, the quilt resembles a Sampler Quilt.
Each block is of a different design and size which is where the challenge in this quilt lies. Putting the blocks together will keep us busy and keep those brain cells working overtime! (image top)
We continue to meet at the CWA Hall opposite the Fire Shed on Annangrove Road, Dural. We meet on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of each month at 9.30am.
Keep warm, keep busy and stay close with your friends.
