Easter is a holiday and celebrated as resurrection of Jesus on the Sunday after his crucifixion in the Christian religion.
Easter will always fall on a specific time each year with Easter following the first moon after the equinox.
For example if the equinox falls on 20th March and the next full moon is on the 30th March.
The Easter bunny however found its way via America through German immigrants in the 1700’s as a symbol of fertility and new life.
I am seeing populating supermarket shelves brightly coloured packets of Easter eggs and seem to be the focus of Easter holidays for children.
The Easter egg hunt is a beloved tradition in many Australian homes but sometimes I wonder if our kids and grandkids will know the true meaning of Easter as we know it or a time to eat as many eggs in the shortest space of time.
So hopefully everyone has a safe and happy Easter and learns a bit of background of Easter.
